About 2 months ago I had a DNA match with Vivian Christy. I am still not sure how many common ancestors we have Antonio de Brum da Silveira ca 1700 and Maria do Espirito Santo ca 1695-1791. Both born Ilha do Pico. Exact location??. They had 2 children. (Ref. database of Valdenai Silveira, Brazil) *Nicolau Brum b. ca 1733 Piedade ilha do Pico, d.29 December 1799 Rio Pardo RS, Brazil. (Ref. database of Valdenai Silveira/Brazil). Nicolau married Jacinta Rosa Pereira b. 16 Jan. 1748 .(Ref. database of U.Minho, Ilha do Pico, Madalena/Candelaria) The descendants of Nicolau and Jacinta are listed up to the present day in the database of Valdenai Silveira/Brazil. *Maria Brum b.ca 1733 ? Lajes do Pico, ? Piedade do Pico d. Rio Pardo, R.S Brazil m. Manuel de Macedo Madruga b. Piedade Ilha do Pico, d. 5.June 1810 (Ref. U.Minho/Lajes do Pico) Children of Maria Brum ca 1733 and Manuel de Macedo Madruga were *Jose de Macedo da Brum da Silveira b. Lajes do Pico (Ref. UMinho database. Ilha do Pico/Lajes) Jose is Vivian Christy’s ancestor *Manuel de Macedo Brum da Silveira b.Lajes do Pico 1763 d.1816 Rio Pardo R.S Brazil (Ref.database of Valdenai Silveira, Brazil)Manuel or his ancestors are my ancestors Manuel de Macedo Brum da Silveira 1763-1816 married in Brazil. he married Ana Maria da Assuncoa 1777-1816 (Ref. database of Valdenai Silveira/ Brazil) Ana Maria da Assencao was a direct descendant of my G.Grandfather x7 Bartolomeu Fonte +1723 via Estevao Rosa 1721 (Ref UMinho database Ilha do Pico/Madalena). So, Manuel de Macedo Brum da Silveira and his wife Ana Assencao were it seems, cousins. A huge % of my family married cousins. When i was in Argentina several years ago my cousin whose mother was brought up by her grandfather Joao Andrade Macedo on Pico mentioned a relationship to the Soares family who my aunt said came to America via Canada. This family probably originated on Ilha de S. Maria in the Azores ,and certainly the origin of other ancestors who went to Brazil was Ilha de S. Jorge. I think my aunts Marjorie Macedo and Dorothea Steffans visited the Soares relatives when they went to America, about 25 years ago. N.B Maria Brum b.1733 has different parents in the Lajes database. I have pondered this for the last 2 months and think they have Maria Brum muddled up with another one. I’d be grateful for anything any of you can add to this.
