Repost for Pat McCoy: This may seem like a dumb question.... I came across a listing of obituaries, from 1957, where Ermelinda NUNES is listed with the date of June 17, 1957. (I'm presuming this is the date the obituary appeared in a Fall River, Mass. newspaper.)
Her maiden name is listed as CARREIRO MEDEIROS. I've come across CARREIRO previously. Where would MEDEIROS come from in the Portuguese naming custom? Thanks!
