There are several letter "P" s in the text to compare the writing to none of them resemble the first letter of the child's name. I agree with Cheri the name is Luiz (Luis).

Hi Sherry, I think I still see Luiz. I went back to look to see if I can see Pedro. It sure looks like there's a dotted letter in that name. It could be a stray mark, I suppose. It is a little tough to read. I don't know the birth order. If you collect all the kids of this couple, the births could go into the time period where they say, "Luiz, second of the name." Then you'd know for sure it was Luis. Or you could collect the marriages of all the kids too. Whatever people see for that name on the list...check out every Luiz or Pedro getting married and see who his parents were.
