Thanks so much. That is the record I was seeking. I have not done much
research on original records (I don’t read Portuguese) and hope to do more.
Is there any authoritative material on the naming conventions used in the
Azores? Virtually none of the data I have from research done by another
relative conforms to anything I have read about how the parents’ surnames
are used and I would like to try to clarify it (if that’s possible).

The record which you linked has void written in the margin. If you go to
image 351 you will find the correct record
http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/PIC-SR-SANTOANTONIO-B-1
815-1846/PIC-SR-SANTOANTONIO-B-1815-1846_item1/P351.html

There are a few things in the record I am not sure of as it is written in a
different format than what I am used to but basically it is the birth of
Francisco son of Francisco Antonio Silveira and Maria Victorina Paternal
Grandparents Antonio Silveira Fagundes and Angelia Ignacia both deceased
Maternal Grandparents Joaquim de Nevis and Maria Victorina. Born 13 Jan 1843
and baptized 26 Feb 1843.

I found the attached record on the CCA site,
http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/PIC-SR-SANTOANTONIO-B-1
815-1846/PIC-SR-SANTOANTONIO-B-1815-1846_item1/P339.html. It is on the right
side of the page at the bottom. I tried to see if it continued on the next
page, but it doesn't appear that there is a continuation of the record.

The information I have from other sources (Grupo de História das Populações)
is that Francisco Antonio da Silva was born on January 13, 1843, in Santo
Antonio, Pico and that his parents were Francisco Antonio Da Silveira and
Maria Vitorina, which appear to me to be the names in this record (although
it's Maria Victorina instead of Vitorina). The father also shows in the the
name Francisco Antonio da Silveira Fagundes in the GHP database.

Can anyone confirm that it might be him and tell me what the rest of the
record says? I can't confirm that there is a date of birth or baptism, but
maybe it can be determined from the records before this entry.

Thanks for any assistance.
