Dear Cheri: I looked through all the parishes of Flores and Corvo and there is only ONE Jacob in the entire book and he was married in 1901. Sorry! John

He has a couple, Jacob Jacobs and wife Mary (probably Maria), who married in Flores, before 1863 or 1864. He does not have the freguesia. They died in California, but those early records only name Flores. We were thinking with a name like Jacobs, he came from somewhere else and may be easier to find in the Flores marriage book.
