My gr grandfather was born 1 Nov 1885 on Graciosa. He was native and baptised in Sao Matheus, Praia. His father was Joao Correia da Silva and his mother was Augusta Margarida. I have no dates or villages for them. Does anyone have daSilva's on Graciosa that may tie into mine? I am wondering if Margarida is a middle name or her sur name. I don't find any reference to a sur name for her. I want to locate birth, baptism records. What should I start with? Suggestions?
