The Ponta Garça relatives are my ggrandmother's side of the family. This couple is Francisco Jose da Ponte and Rosalina Maria, married 1795. If this is the right Rosalina (or Rosalia), parents of both were cited above in Shirley Allegre's message. Rosalia (born about 1772, died before 1828): Manoel de Sousa X Luzia de Medeiros Francisco Jose da Ponte (died after 1828): Andre de Medeiros X Ritta da Ponte Francisco was married the first time in 1794 to Joanna Francisca de Mello (born 1769). The children of Francisco Jose and Rosalina Maria included Maria Rita (born about 1809); died 3 Jan 1873, Ponta Garça), who married Francisco Carreiro (born about 1807, Ribeira Grande). I think you gave me more about the children of Maria Rita and Francisco Carreiro. If you have anything else on these people, that would be great.
