I looked up more specific information from my tree. My maternal grandmother was Maria Laurencia Soares aka Mary Sears. She was born in Cambridge, MA on Oct 23, 1883. Her patents were both from the Azores. Her father was Jose Machado Soares born 24 July 1833 on St George Island and died 12 may 1905 in Somerville, MA. Her mother was (Maria) Joaquina ????, who was born in 1842 on Flores Island and died in Somerville, MA about 1922. I do not know her maiden name. My grandmother (Maria Laurencia Soares had two siblings. They were Matilda Soares (aka Sears) born 1882, and Eugene Soares (aka Sears) born 1881. I hope we can find some connection. Thanks. Diane
