Dear Listers, After searching for years for Patsy's Grand Father's birth/baptism record we hired João Ventura. Those of you who attended the conference in SLC, UT or San Jose, CA would have met him. João researched all 10 of the siblings. As it turns out, the first 3 were referenced as Vieira only. It wasn't until #4, my Grand Father, that the name Anselmo was added, making the last name Vieira Anselmo. João explained to us that many times when there are multiple names of people in a village that one of the families will add a "given name" from one of their ancestors that will distinguish their family from the other. In our case they added the "given name" of Anselmo, which João said was a very strong name. João Ventura is wonderful, without this info we would still be looking. AVA
