Ancestry will work as a partial resource for tracing with American
records.  Depending on your membership level, you can get the U.S.
Censuses, some birth, marriage, death info, and maybe immigration.

To get started the correct way though, you need to read this how to guide
and get all the sources you can in America to find the freguesia in the
Azores.
