Phyl, You need the freguesia. Sao Miguel is divided up into 6 councils. If you live in America, a council is similar to our counties. You could drive to all 6 councils, fill out a request, fly back home, and hope that someone answers you. I would not do it that way. Find your mother's freguesia first, by bugging every living relative you can find.
