Greetings --

On 28 AUG 1877 Manuel Fernandes Felisberto, also known as Manuel Fernandes
Moreira, b. Faial da Terra 09 OCT 1835 to Felisberto Fernandes and Rosa Moreira
(also known as Rosa de Rezendes), obtained passport #376 in Ponta Delgada to
travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on the steamship Lidador.

Accompanying him was his half-brother, Antonio da Motta (#375), son of Rosa and
second husband Manuel da Motta (married 29 SEP 1842).

NOTE: The two passport pages are not lined up properly; Antonio is the
23-year-old single man, and Manuel is the 43-year-old married man.

No further records for Manuel have been found after the passport issue date.
His widow came to the US in MAR 1898, leading to the assumption that Manuel
died between AUG 1877 and MAR 1898; however, an obito in Faial da Terra has not
been found for him between those dates.

Half-brother Antonio da Motta returned to Faial da Terra, where he and his
wife, Maria de Rezendes, had a son named Antonio who was born 07 JAN 1890.

By chance does anyone have either Manuel or Antonio in their family tree? Do
you know what became of Manuel?

Thanks ever so much!

Kind regards,
Patricia
