There are about 12 or 13 freguesias (villages). Since you don't know which one, you will have to search them all. The ones online will be easy. Just click the link. For the others, you will have to order the film from your local Family History Center. There are some emigration records from Faial to Brasil. They are not online. I think they go only back to the 1850s. I don't think that is back far enough for you.
