It is my understanding by reading various media that Ancestry.com is for sale and may soon be bought out. There are a couple of companies interested in purchasing it and I do not know if they are American companies or not and, if not, wonder if they will keep main offices in this country. I believe they now have an international office in Ireland. Also, will be interesting what, if any, changes will be made if/when they are bought out. I have enjoyed using Ancestry.com for many years now but this will be my last renewal as I don't use it in my research anymore, mainly to help others on this list and other lists and it is no longer cost effective for me. Now that FHC is putting many of its records on line I use it more and more as a resource, free for now, but wonder if it will remain the same in the future.
