It is so interesting to see these pictures and the consideration that they are around 40 years old. Much of this is the same, yet different as there has been 40 years of progress and today, particularly in Ponta Delgada, the tourist industry is thriving, cars travel on wonderful roads and the advances have been phenomenal. Those who have been there recently might want to share some of those pictures to present the contrast, and I am only sorry that I didn't take more pictures when there.
