Their first names don't usually change. If any changes to their name was during confirmation. What mostly likely happen was a mistake by the priest writting the record or couples with similar names. To make matters worse, when you go to the marriages there are 3 marriages of people with similar names. One, can't remember which, even has the Priest writing a note in the margin about the mix ups!
