Fawn,
The two ports of arrival from the Azores listed in the Morton Allen Directory
for 1893 are
New Bedford and New York. Some of the ships were the Peninsular and Vega in
New Bedford, and Dona Maria in NY. If you can't find them online, the FHC has
some on microfilm.

Fawn U,

I don't have access to my Morton Allen Directory, but your public library
probably has a copy.

The Morton Allen Directory will list which ports had ships arriving in 1893.

Off the top of my head, someone going to MA landed in NY (Ellis Island),
Providence, Boston, New Bedford, and Baltimore.

Check NY (Ellis) as well as the smaller ports. Even though the final
destination may have been New Bedford, they may have been checked in at Ellis.

NOTE: NY - Ellis Island was 1892-1954 and was Castle Garden 1855-1891.
