Some people on this list scan the heading and if they saw Maia and have no ancestors from Maia, they are deleting that thread. So they won't know you are talking about Ponta Delgada. Hi all, I have a Joao Tavares from Ponta Delgada who married Claudina Candida. They had a daughter Maria Augusta who had my great grandfather August Furtado Pimental born 9/27/1873 in Faja de Baixo, Ponta Delgada. August left Portugal in the early 1900's going first to Bermuda and then settling in Rhode Island. Anyone connected to this Tavares family?
