Sorry Cheri my misspelling it should be Sao Miguel in the Azores. I did find quite a bit more info since I posted my tree. Just need to find the time to put it in. My biggest set back on the Souza side is I can't find him in any of the ship lists nor my great grandmother. This is where I'm hoping that George is going to be able to help me. I'm not sure where we connect but I do have a feeling it is through the Barboza or Barbosa side. That would be my mother's grandmother. If that is our link, just to let you know I do have a family pic with her and her husband and all the children. I'll keep on trudging... Thanks, Gail E. You may want to double check your genealogy program to be sure you have the island as Sao Miguel. San Miguel island is one of the Channel Islands off the coast of California.
