You are welcome Tyler. My Souza’s all come from Sao Jorge also but another village. Now that you have the names of the grandparents you need to get to those Calheta records and find the marriage of Francisco de Sousa & Catharina Amelia and go from there! You have a great start now and the later records are easier to read. Look for other children born to Francisco & Catharina and get used to the names in the village and the format of the documents. If you feel you can’t do it, hire a researcher to do it for you.
Plan on making a trip to Salt Lake City with Cheri and I and hopefully Joao Ventura and we will all help you learn how do find/read the documents and it’s fun!!
