David B,

I have a book with dates in that I cannot find. I'm 99% sure that Sete
Cidades was a "recent" parish. By recent, I mean something like it's 100
years old or less. In the 1980s, when the Genealogical Society of Utah
(now Family Search) was filming in Sao Miguel, they filmed from about 1883
back. There were no books from Sete Cidades from 1883 back. Sete Cidades
was split off from another freguesia. Maybe Mosteiros or Bretanha or one
of those around there. That information is also in that book of mine that
I can't find. You will be able to find the Sete Cidades records in that
other freguesia.
