Trevor,

I'm the only admin from the Azores or Madeira projects to make it to the
conference this year.

The only thing I know is the note that I took at the conference:
<<The Population Finder will be released when they are comfortable with the
results. Since last year, they have started it over 3 or 4 times!>>

What I know about FTDNA (a customer since fall of 2005 and an admin since
spring of 2006): They don't like to put a product out there and then have
to backtrack. Their first Population Finder was in beta. But when they
put out the new one, they don't want it to be like another beta. They want
it to be a good product. Out of the main 3 genetic genealogy players,
FTDNA is the last one to revise it. Since the other 2 have done their
updates, you know FTDNA wants to have the best one.

This time last year, they said that the Population Finder would be ready
probably around January. January came and went and here we are a year
later. I really don't think that they will throw it out and start all over
again. They did state the problems with Russia and Poland. Elliott, the
IT/Engineering guy, told me at lunch that Portugal was working and that
France was swallowing up other nations. He only said that they will
release it when it is ready and wouldn't put a timeline on it. So we sit
and wait.

And France is swallowing up my dad too! LOL
