Interesting article on signatures. Is that one Grover Ross? At that time there were two ways to write "s" and one looked like f but with the line only going on the left side, and not through to the right. I think that's what Washington did when he wrote his surname. - Shirl -

It's not that it's in Portuguese. It's the script of the time period. I was watching TV today, and something came up on George Washington. I did a quick Internet search to find out more. But if I didn't study any abbreviations or any paleography and English was not my native language, I'd be naming the guy Gro Rofs.
