I have Francisco da Costa married with Rosa Jacinta de Innocencia, Ponta Garca, NS da Piedade, Sept 24, 1838; He is son of Joao da Costa and Ana de Jesus, natives of Ponta Garca, and she is daughter of Antonio de Medeiros and Maria Francisca, natives Ribeira das Tainhas. Ribeira das Tainhas, a some point links back to Ponta Garca and to Vila Franca, because before about 1800, it did not keep its own records. And you have to be careful with the Medeiros and Costa lines because there are so many. It is tangled web and you are right to find the baptisms to ensure you have the right line.
