Manuel S,

Some of the priests put indices in the back of the books. So you just have
to see if you get lucky.

Ernesto do Canto created *some *indices for *some* families he considered
important for *some* freguesias. They are available from the archive in
Ponta Delgada. I don't know if they were scanned and if there is any
intent to put them online.

Carlos Machado made 600 pages of pedigree charts (images WERE online; not
too sure if they are still there or not). Father Joseph Viveiros spent a
few years indexing them and then selling the index (you import it via
Gedcom in your genealogy software program). I think it's about $60 or so.

The Rodrigo Rodrigues books contain about 6 volumes. I'm not sure if they
are in print. They were pretty expensive ($300 USD? $400 USD?) Again,
it's not all the families on Sao Miguel though.

The "Insulana" books contain some indices too.
