I am trying to help a friend translate and it's like the rookie leading the new kid. It is the record on the right hand page for Rita. My attempt at translation was:
Rita daughter of Manuel Ignacio de Mello and his wife Maria Geraminda, natives of this parish D______ Santo paternal grandson of Angelo de Mello and Rita Thomasia and maternal Francisco d'____ Faria (?) and Rosa Narcisa (?) born the fifteenth day of July in the year eighteen hundred forty seven and ________ August of the same year baptized in this church _____ by Priest _______ Francisco _______ Macedo (? really unsure of this name) Godparents Jose (?) Francisco da Rosa and his wife Maria Candida _______________ and Godfather Antonio Manuel Fialho (next word is wife but I don't know what the rest says ??) also, I have absolutely no idea what the margin note says. Any help with corrections and filling in the blanks would be greatly appreciated.
