I'm glad you quoted the previous message that Cheri posted for Christine, because somehow that didn't come to me through the list.
What's the name of the wife of your Bartolomeu Fonte ancestor? Are they from Pico?
And if I may offer a slight correction, for the name Brum, it is always "de" Brum and never "da" Brum, if any preposition is used at all. Is he the one who married twice from Pico?
I'm not sure if we have ever exchanged email before. Are you a native from Pico, or maybe Canada?
I am probably related to your wife by that ancestor, but unfortunately it is beyond the existing church records and the link would be in the middle 1600s. If she were to get the Family Finder DNA test, we might show such a link. I've found that because of my ancestors married cousins, one as close as first cousin, it acts like a multiplier and ends up showing ancestors much older than they estimate. I'm getting matches to my father where the common link is actually 400 years ago, if I can even prove it. Those are from Terceira. And for Pico families, I have a lot of matches to people with Lajes ancestors but just out of reach by a generation or two because of the records running out.
