There was one on Rootsweb.  Last I heard, most posts were in the Portuguese
language, but I'm sure there are people who speak English.  It's not a very

The process in Portugal (or France or Italy or anywhere in Europe) is the
same as the Azores.  Find the village.  Records are organized on the
village level.  Once you find the village, you can look to see if that
District in Portugal is online yet at the Torro do Tombo.  There's an index
to Portuguese vitals online here:
