If you are "reading" the Portuguese ones, you can read the Italian ones.
You just need the Italian Word list and you'll figure it out.  I helped
someone at the Family History Center (FHC) read a French baptism.  I just
pulled the word list and figured it out.

A search for "italian genealogy" will probably find you a list, group, or
discussion forum.

There are many on this list of mixed ancestry and some are Italian, so they
may be able to give you more information.
