I am trying to figure out a few issues related to the marriage record of my 8th ggf, Francisco Perreira from Sao Sebastiao, Ponta Delgada. There are two issues related to his marriage record. First, what is the word after his name (could it be a military rank?) and second, what is the last name of his father? Here's what I can make out from the record: Marriage date: 10 Jun 1685 groom: Francisco Pereira ____? groom's father: Andre do _____? groom's mother: Leanor Pereira bride: Maria de Sousa bride's father: Manuel Carvalho bride's mother: Anna de Sousa

The following shows him as a Cappitão-mor but I'm not sure it's my Francisco since the record doesn't mention his wife and there's a "d'Amaral" after Pereira. I do know he died before 1710 since he was listed as deceased at his son's wedding and I can't find another Francisco Perreira in the Sao Sebastiao death records online.
