I have just updated what I believe is a complete list of my End of Line ancestors for Pico and Terceira.

So if interested to see if we are related, you can scan the list.

There is a very likely chance many of them are your ancestors, but you haven't done enough research to realize it.

If you have a name similar to any on the list, there is certainly a decent chance it leads to these ancestors.
For instance, if you have Fonseca from Santa Barbara das Nove Ribeiras, chances are we connect that way.
If you have Rocha from anywhere on the south side of Terceira, chances are we connect.
If you have Goncalves Leonardo from the Angra, Sao Bento, Ribeirinha area, we connect.

For those interested in a particular set of ancestors, maybe this could be called Adopt an Ancestor, because if we are lucky enough to find someone whose direct paternal or maternal line leads to them, it's going to help us both know more about that ancestor.

When I find more time I will try to explain my idea better, because there seems to be some confusion on how it works.

For those actively researching their Terceira ancestors and were trying to see from my long list of End of Line ancestors whether you and I share some in common, then check again because I am just now adding in all my Terceira ancestors that were left off.

This list will be evolving in several ways. First, I will make sure I didn't miss any I wanted to mention.
Secondly, as I find DNA testing candidates, I will make notations after the names of my list of ancestors.

The great news is that I already found a candidate who is a direct male line descendant of an ancestor for just about everyone who has ancestry from São Bento and Ribeirinha on Terceira. It seems Manuel Gonçalves Leonardo and his wife Joana Gonçalves have millions of descendants. So I will soon learn more about the DNA of Manuel. I believe the candidate intends to pay for his own testing.

So over the next couple of days, as I have time to list the rest of my ancestors, you might like to take a peek and see if any on the list are of particular interest to you and decide if it would be worth for you to participate as I have described.

Thanks to the helpful suggestions of some others, I am ready to launch my project to discover more about many of our most distant ancestors.

Here is the page that explains it all:

I will now begin to search for people who qualify for this testing.

Avid genealogists now have a way to actively participate in discovering the DNA of select ancestors that are not on your direct paternal or maternal lines.
