I see the point with the "a" and now agree that is probably is filha. I still think it starts with an M like in the priests name at the end. Also the mother's name "Maria" is just below the child's name and really looks similar except that the "I" is not evident and the "a" is very heavy-handed. Manoel might have it correctly with Maria.
