“I can add one new detail to our Monte research. I found a death entry for Manoel, 8 months old, died 5 Aug 1793 in Achada. His mother was Maria Furtada and the father is Pai Incognito. Maria's parents are given as Miguel do Monte and Thereza Furtada. Given the date, I assume this is Maria from Miguel, the son. She did have a son named Manoel born 5 Dec 1792, so this is probably him.
