Good morning John.

My Bretanha Families is primarily a listing of descendants of the earliest
families of Bretanha, not an ancestry. The ancestry of Thomé Furtado was a
felicitous discovery which I made with the help of an Azorean-Canadian
genealogist. Together we were able to trace him back to Nordeste. His ancestry
had not been documented before that. So you won't necessarily get any more
information regarding ancestry. My work is primarily for people interested in
tying back to the original families and discovering different branches that
descend from the original settlers.

I do not know if a trip to the library will be worth the time. Although each
volume has a table of contents, there is no index. I will certainly try and
answer any questions you might have if it helps. And, if you do go to the
library, remember that we all make mistakes, and you should always verify the
information presented.

Many people have asked me about buying a set, but it is no longer available in
print. A few years ago a gentleman from Pennsylvania bought the set on word
document for his wife, whose family was from Bretanha.

Let me know if I can answer any more questions. I like working on genealogical
mysteries.

Hi John,
Thanks for the info. I read that you wrote a book Mirandas of Bretanha that
included some of these families. I live in Marshfield, Ma. but  I was thinking
of making a trip to the library to read it. Would it have more information than
you already just gave me on Andre de Teves/Leonor Sousa as I saw that you
listed them in volume 7. Also, would it include anything on Miguel Oliveira who
married Margarida Pimentel (daughter of Tome Furtado/Lucia Carvalho) in 1707? I
already have a lot of info on Tome's background which seems pretty impressive.
Thanks

them such as their parents? The Teve/Teves family has quite a background
on the island and I am trying to connect them to past generations.
