Does anyone have any ancestors in S. Miguel with the family name Salgado pre 1623? I have the marriages for two brothers, Manuel in 1623, and Tomé in 1625 in S. Pedro, Vila Franca do Campo. Their parents are António Salgado and Teresa Fontes of the same parish. The parents might have been crypto Jews or converts. I am interested in exploring possible family ties of these Salgados to any other Salgados around the same time period or earlier, anywhere on S. Miguel.
