Hello All, I brought back home with me from my mother's house, Patricia Ann Cabrinha, the box of gems from my Uncle Richard Earl Cabrinha, as well as her own gems - various but great pictures, newspaper articles including the entire Honolulu Star from the day after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, National Geographic article Vol 82, Page 541-560 (bound) circa 10/1942, another Pearl Harbor historical book, "Pearl Harbor Story December 7, 1941" by Captain William T. Rice, USNR (Ret) 1965 (Reprint 1973 9th printing), other historical things (some of which are photocopies of items that I am sure most of you already have from the Portuguese Memories book or the Society).
I have started to photograph these items and am placing the photographs in a new album for my mother to label those items which are not labelled by my grandmother, Leslie Gouveia who they originally belonged to. Also, I ensuring the newspapers and other items are sealed so that they are protected from further aging. I want to make sure that I respect the nature and purpose of this group which is about Azorean Genealog. It is mostly post migration items (so far). How or where is it best to be posted? I want it all to be shared somewhere, freely and openly. I say this especially for the fact that there are some pictures which include snapshots of soldiers and one of a couple sailors with my mother and a friend of hers who may be important to certain persons out there which I believe in my heart need to be found. For sure there is a lot of pictures of my great-great, great, grand parents, my mother, uncle, cousins, friends which are so lovely which speak to several years and decades that are priceless. The newspaper from Pearl Harbor and the National Geographic as well as the Pearl Harbor book are...well, leave me speechless. As well as a few other items.... So I would like some feedback on the best way to do this.
