John, I am speechless.... Thank you so very much! This is amazing, my Mother in
law is going to be so happy. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!! So I do
have the names of Jose and Vitoria Salvador's children, if that will help? Let
me start with my Father-in-law, Justino Sousa Salvador born on Dec. 9, 1927
(married Maria de Carmo Pereira Carvalho B. 5/17/1931 M. 12/27/1957 or 1958),
his brothers are Manuel Sousa Salvador and Jose Sousa Salvador. He has 4
sister's: The oldest is Conceicao, Maria Gloria (married Manuel Patricio),
Maria dos Anjos, and Helena. Not sure if this helps.... Let me know what you
need. Again, I can't express how grateful I am for the wealth of priceless
information you have provided me with, extremely grateful!

Pereira of Pilar (m. Ajuda: 8 Dec 1834) and Maria Joaquina of Pilar. This line
also goes back to D. Afonso III.

I have lots of information on theSalvador and Alexandre families but I do not
have a marriage for José de Sousa Salvador and Vitória Cândida. More
information isneeded.

I do have:

Vitorino de Medeiros Alexandre (b. Pilar: 1823 (according to themarriage
record: Ajuda: 27-8-1871 [2nd marriage]), d. Pilar:12-5-1905), son of António

grandson of Manuel Alves daCosta of Pilar (m. Ajuda: 4 Mar 1889) and Maria de
Oliveira of Pilar (d. before1815). This line goes back to the earliest settlers
of S. Miguel as documentedin Frutuoso’s Saudades da Terra, BookIV.

Maria Augusta Pavão (b. Bretanha: 1850, according to her marriagerecord,
daughter of Manuel Pavão Martelo (b. Pilar 1820 according to hisreported age at
death in Pilar on 22 Jul 1908 in Pilar; m. 3 Dec 1849) and Felíciade Jesus, a
foundling from S. Pedro, Ponta Delgada, fostered by Manuel Pimenteland Luzia de
Jesus of Bretanha, paternal grandson of Francisca Pavão (b.Bretanha:
10-10-1803, d. 2-2-1878). The paternalline goes back to Rui Vaz de Medeiros
(1474) with connections in Madeira.

This couple has a daughter (amongmany other children) b. 5-Dec-1885 who married
Manuel J. Pavão in Fall River in1910.

I hope this helps. Let me know ifI can be of further assistance.

My Mirandas are all fromBretanha.

Thank you John! Having a really difficult time finding records for family. They
are from Pilar/Bretahna, Ajuda/Bretahna and Mosteiros on Sao Miguel. I will
start with Grandparents and their parents: Irene Pereira 8/10/1909 her parents
are Angelo Caetano Pereira and Maria Angelina da Conceicao Caetano I believe
they were from Mosteiros. Jose Vitorino Carvalho (Irene's husband) 5/8/1906
his parents are Manuel Vitorino Carvalho 2/12/1880 and Maria Do Espirito Santo
from Bretahna.

Also looking for information on Jose Souza Salvador born 1868. His wife Vitoria
C. Alexandre born 1885 her father is Vitorino Alexandre. I believe they are
from Pilar/Bretahna.

(My maiden name is "Miranda" we are from Camacha, Madeira, I was able to track
them back to 1662)

Thanks again,

Sharlene
