I am very new to researching my family in the Azores, and I have found some clues to some ancestor names, but I am not sure where to go from here.
I have a name from a passenger list, Maria Ernestina, father is Jose Francisco. Maria was born around 1905 in Agua Retorta, Sao Miguel. Looks like she was travelling with a sister - Maria Conceicao Tereira or Pereira born around 1897. These sisters I believe have a brother, Ernesto Francisco, born Feb 2 1888 or Feb 2 1886. I find this all very confusing. The passenger records of the sisters have different last names, Ernestina and Pereira, or maybe the passenger record just did not list Francisco as their last name as that is listed under their father Jose Francisco. I know that LDS familysearch has microfilm of for Agua Retorta, but beginning at 1883. Since they are all born after this date, the microfilm would not help.
