I'm looking for some Cunhas on Graciosa too. My paternal Great Grandmother
Maria Jesintia Rosa was supposedly born in Graciosa i 1864 and when she was 14
was sent to USA to live with her Uncle Joseph (Jose Bettancourt Da Cunha) Silva
born 1848, also known as Joe Silva in USA, and his wife Mariana Bettancourt
Silva who were "supposed" to be from Graciosa. They settled in far northern
California, Yreka, Hawkinsville area. Do any of these names ring a bell with
anyone? I'm searching but have not been able to find anythings specific yet.
I think they were from Luz but not positive.

Helen,

I've got many Cunhas from Graciosa in my tree. I have a second cousin who
returned to Graciosa about 17 years ago (he is a Cunha). Provide some
birthdates for your grandparents and I can ask.

Regards,

Bill
