Lisa, I'm thinking that you need to find him on the Azores Passport lists to make sure just what name he used in coming to the US. Have you found him there? Maybe the May 1894 is when he received his Passport and then he arrived in the US on June 6th? Look at the end of May back to the beginning of that month and see if you find him if you haven't already. Remember, my Va said she came under the name of Maria Vieira da Silva and I searched for 30 years and didn't find her. Finally said I'm looking at every Maria during the time period she said she came and found her under Maria d'Azevedo! You just never know! Good luck Prima!
