I've be scouring the parish records for my great grand parents. I have only been able to find the birth record for my great grandmother in candelaria. Her name was Maria Jorge born 1904. She married Manuel Revoredo who was about two years older than his wife. I can't find his record anywhere.
There is also my great grandfather Jose Paiva, who married Maria do carmo Pereira. They had many children, one of them being Antonio Paiva (b 1926) (my grand father), who had tragically died in Toronto. Articles and a book was dedicated to my grandmother after this event. Her name was Agueda Revoredo. Finding records for my father's side has been very difficult. It was suggested that my father, Eduardo desousa, was not the son of the person whom I have always considered to be my grand father as the wedding of his "parents" was after he was born. Also, on my fathers birth certificate, it notes that his birth was registered in 1976, a year before we came to Canada. This is very odd to me as he was born in 1944. He also took his mother's name and not his father's. (All children born after took the father's name) Their names are Jose Rego and her name was Olivia camara de sousa. I know nothing besides that. If anyone has any information, that would be great. Every time another page loads, I tell myself that this will be the page...
