Theresa, I think you and Bill have filled in the blanks that I was missing.... especially the first line of the 2nd record! The idea that the child was abandoned, and later the parents came forward, makes the most sense, especially in light of the fact that the subsequent baptism records of all of Balbina's children state the maternal grandparents as Manuel Pereira and Antonia Vicencia!
