My father also arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia March 1954 on SS Homeland or as my father called it "the Omlando". He also said he was in the second group of immigrants to Canada from the Azores. Search this group for SS Homeland and you will find a discussion about it along with a picture of some of the people on the boat. MNK
