Hi - I'm curious if anyone knows if immigration records are available for individuals leaving the US and going back to the Islands? I have only been able to locate immigration records into the US. I was told my Great-Great Grandfather left Oakland and went back to "the Islands" around 1920-1930 after his wife died in Oakland. I believe he would have returned to the Madeira Islands, although he had ties to the Azores islands as well. Another side of me thinks he never left Oakland, but I have not been able to locate a death record for him here, so I am trying to prove the validity of what I was told.
