I have relatives in the 1800s from Biscoitos with the name Adao - Maria de Jesus Adao, Adao jose Fernandes, and Maria Jose Adao. I am having a difficult time locating any records with the name Adao. Not sure if this is not an Azorean name or if there is a more common name that the records would be listed under. I know that often in records there are lisings for Mansel, which is Manuel. Is there a similar like name for Adao?
