Hi all, I had a question regarding the Chromosome browser and wanted to see if there is a way to determine a common ancestral connection between 2 or 3 different people based on having segments in common for a particular chromosome?
I am attaching 2 pics to illustrate my question from my chromosome browser. For instance, I have several matches who all somewhat overlap on chromosome no. 2 and 3 (first pic) and no. 11 (second pic) with me. From the first pic, I know how 2 of the people are related (uncle-light blue color and niece-yellow color respectively) on chromosomes no. 2 and 3. With the other individual (purple color on chromosome 2) and a different person (orange color on chromosome 3), I am not sure how they connect with me or the other 2 people. The second picture illustrates another example with chromosome 11 and two people. The orange colored individual is the same as in the first pic. The yellow is a different person in the second pic. Any info regarding how the chromosome overlapping can be helpful or not helpful would be greatly appreciated.
