Greetings Group, Freddy Garcia and I have known we we DNA matches for a very long time.....we did a paper trail years ago and found one of our matches. I match BOTH his mother and father and the previous match we found was to his father. Last week I noticed that Freddy's mom had a MTDNA of U5.....my paternal grandmother was a U5.....so we started tracing the female lines of both and found our common ancestor! I was so excited to follow the MT DNA and find the connection! We both descend from Josefa Maria Conceicao, born Candelaria, in April of 1721....I descend from her daughter Emerenciana Rosa Conceicao and Freddy's mom is from her daughter, Josefa Clara. I love DNA and it was so easy to follow the U5 trail. I'm wondering if anyone else has MTDNA U5 from Candelaria, Pico. Best to all,Nancy Jean
