Repost for Carolyn, palolopenguin at cox.net I'm new to the Azores-Genealogy site and I love checking it out everyday. My problem is bringing up the information once you get on there. I'm talking about the left hand side kinda looks like a tablet with muito numbers. I don't know how to get that information, anyway, Gomes is my family name on my father's side. Both his parents have the same name (cousins). She was born in Brazil, but said her family came to Brazil from Portugal with the Portugese goverment. I don't know when and from where in Portugal. I have documents that I have translated of the birth, marriage of my Granny Gomes, then documents of their marriage. Then the trail is lost. Some how my greatfather got to Hawaii around 1840's. Can't find how and when he got to Hawaii, but my grammps was born in Naaleihu on the big island. My gramps went to Portugal sometime around 1911-13 then went to Brazil so he could marry my granny. I checked census, etc. my cousin and I keep hitting walls. If there is a website to help me learn Portuguese Genealogy please let me know so I can become better and not have to be a boob and trouble you.
