Becky, It depends. If you are reading a record and it says someone was from another island or the continent, then you follow the paper trail and keep researching. If the records just end because you run out of records (they are missing, lost, whatever), well, that is what we call the "End of Line" ancestor. That ancestor is as far back as we can go on that line since no earlier records exist. Cheri
