I know this is not the right group for this post, but I believe I will get more responses here than the post I have on the Madeira site. My great uncle Francisco Gomes was born in 1876 Santa Maria Maior to Jacinto Gomes and Jacinta (née de Jesus) Gomes. In April 1912 he received his passport and left Madeira. The destination on the passport says USA. There is an entry at Ellis Island (web site) of his arrival with the destination of Boston. I have his passenger manifest on the S.S. Konig Albert; a WWI draft registration card, dated 12 Sep 1918 listing his mother as his closest living relative (Francisco living at house #2 Sunnyside Park, Taunton, MA); and a 1923 phone directory with the same address. He had a brother, my great grandfather, Victorino Gomes, his wife and son that immigrated to Hawaii in 1906.
I am hoping someone can help with information on Francisco after he arrived in the U.S., or there maybe a long lost relative in the group or someone that may know his family.
